Michael Goldman provided expert testimony in Federal Bankruptcy Court in
Chicago regarding the viability of a debtor, the possibility of
rehabilitation, and the likelihood of diminishment of the estate. The
judge accepted Mr. Goldman's opinions as part of her ruling dismissing the
bankruptcy case.

Michael Goldman was a panel speaker at the American Bankruptcy
Institute's Spring Meeting in Washington, D.C. The panel discussed
commercial fraud in a bankruptcy setting, advised trustees on how to respond to
allegations of fraud, introduced the new ABI Commercial Fraud Manual, and
presented a recent case study.
February 2010 - Goldman's expert testimony relied on by jury
Michael Goldman provided expert testimony in State Court in Milwaukee
regarding lost profits of a start-up business and personal goodwill of a law
practice. The jury accepted Mr. Goldman's opinions and awarded damages
based on the analysis provided in Mr. Goldman's report.
January 2010 - American Bankruptcy Institute publishes Commercial Fraud
Manual with chapter written by Michael Goldman
The American Bankruptcy Institute has released
Commercial Fraud Manual, which provides the framework and vocabulary
necessary to understand, confront and defeat commercial fraud issues. A
special project of the American Bankruptcy Institute’s Commercial Fraud Task
Force, the Manual was written by Eugene S. Becker of Becker Law,
Margaret Daley of Duff & Phelps, LLC, Daniel F. Dooley of
MorrisAnderson & Associates, Ltd., Michael Goldman of Michael Goldman &
Associates, LLC, Richard S. Lauter of Freeborn & Peters LLP, David
P. Leibowitz of the Lakelaw/Leibowitz Law Center and Eric S. Rein
of Dykema Gossett PLLC. The Manual explains different types of fraud,
the mechanics of forensic investigations and computer forensics, the legal
response to fraud and international fraud remedies, concluding with a
discussion of the major fraud cases in 2009.
December 2009 - Goldman's expert testimony relied on by judge
Michael Goldman had previously provided testimony regarding business
valuation, business solvency, and the intentional bankrupting of a company in
a divorce case. Judge Loredo-Rivera issued an opinion this month stating
that "Mr. Goldman's testimony in this regard is persuasive."
